Set of Eight 1940s French Dining Chairs by Maison Jansen

£4,500.00

A set of eight 1940s limed oak dining chairs by Maison Jansen with high straight backs, shaped wonderfully at the top with the flourish of a double curved arch. The lower frame of each back is carved with acanthus leaves, along with the long, slender front legs which taper down to a beautiful scrolled foot. A very similar model is shown in the book ‘Jansen Furniture’ by James Archer, p.299 (Acanthus Press, New York, 2007).

Dimensions: Each Chair - H 108cm x L 44cm x D 52cm, Seat Height 43cm
