JACQUELINE HASSINK – CAR GIRLS

185.00

First edition, hard cover, published by Aperture, 2009.

In this large, glossy publication, Jacqueline Hassink deconstructs the phenomena of the obligatory female model that stands beside a car at trade shows. Something that at glance appears normal soon becomes absurd as Hassink’s photographs are arranged as objectively as the female models are treated, by car brand, hair style, ethnicity etc… This book is stylishly produced, coldly presenting the aesthetic and psychology of the corporate car brand. This theme of typology flows through Hassink’s other photo series’ such as ‘Banks’ and ‘Quarry Walls’.

Condition: Near fine, small dint to the top left corner
