First edition, published by Collins, 1976 This book, The Silent Studio, marks Picasso’s death with a series of photographs of his house, artworks and studio exactly how they were left. These moving black and white images possess both the solemn stillness of mourning, and the youthful energy of the work. It is no surprise that Picasso’s heirs, and the French government requested David Douglas Duncan document the Notre-Dame de Vie and its contents.
